Mobility Workshop Series

This Mobility Workshop Series was designed to help you meet your mobility goals both during the series and throughout your lifetime. You will learn stretching and strengthening exercises that you can use to help improve posture, reduce the risk of injury, and support long-term joint health.

Week 1- Intro & Goal setting

Learn the props, terminology, goal setting, how to appreciate progress.

  • Full body stretch and body check using different props and techniques to gauge where your body is, so you can set accurate goals of where you want to end up.

  • Learn the warm-up and cool-down that will be repeated throughout the workshops as another measure of our progress.

Week 2- Lower body

Go through common poses and goal-focused movements, make personalized adjustments, strengthening exercises.

  • Learn lower-body focused mobility exercises to reduce joint pain and stretches to increase range of motion.

  • We'll keep your goals in mind that were set during the previous workshop.

  • We will use props like the yoga block and resistance band to float through ankle, knee, and hip exercises, noting which tricks are better for your desired end goals.

Week 3- Upper body

Continuing ideals from the previous class, but upper-body focused.

  • Upper-body goals will be prioritized including wrist, shoulder, and back focused areas.

  • Similar to the previous workshop, but we will be using a resistance band and blanket for comfort.

  • Goals may be altered due to new knowledge about your body.

Week 4- Full body and goal check-in

Combine knowledge from previous workshops, appreciate improvements, discuss how to progress from here

  • Repeat the stretching sequence from week one to check progress and utilize new knowledge.

  • Reflect on the strength of our bodies and applaud ourselves for accomplishing something new!

Meet your instructor:

Ashley

After enduring many injuries related to sports and dance, she grew an intense appreciation for healing and strengthening and the desire to share her knowledge with others. Her teaching style focuses on movements that remain challenging, but are comfortable for an individuals body limitations. She loves emphasizing positive affirmations and taking time to appreciate all our bodies go through and all they’re capable of.
